Welcome to my website!

I grew up in small logging towns in the shadow of Mount Rainier in beautiful Washington State where my dad was a logger. After our mom died, he was a single parent to me and my younger sister Margie. My writing is often about growing up in those small towns.

I retired from corporate communications and now I focus on creative writing. My poems and short stories have won First, Second, Third Place and Honorable Mention Awards in local writing competitions. I began college in my twenties, and finally earned my Bachelors Degree from the University of Washington in my 40s!

I live in Kirkland, Washington with my husband, Dustin Frederick. We have three grown (& married) daughters, and eight fabulous grandkids.
